Book the first five seats and the boat is yours! If you are 1-4 people we will often book more people to fill the boat for a salmon trip on the day of your choice. For bottom fishing and combo Salmon/bottom fishing trips you need at least four anglers to make the trip. We offer a different experience than the charter boats that take up to 20 people at a time out. The fishing is very hands on, with lots of individual support and assistance. We provide all of the equipment and bait needed, and use top of the line, well maintained gear so that you can just come aboard and enjoy the fishing. We will clean and ice your fish on the boat, and we will fillet your catch when we get to the dock. We offer vacuum packing and freezing/ or cold storage for a reasonable price through “The Gut Hut” at our home base, Mason’s resort in Sekiu.

Halibut

We are now booking Halibut trips for May, and the beginning of June. Halibut trips will get booked up early as there are a very limited number of days, and it is just so incredibly awesome to catch these delicious monsters from the deep. It is a quota-based season, so the earlier dates are guaranteed to be open for Halibut, and the later dates become less certain. We usually get our limit of halibut, and on the offshore trips we get to pick and choose for larger fish. We often get a few lingcod or pacific cod as we fish for halibut, and if we get our fish early, we will stop and get some rockfish on the way in. If you book a halibut trip, and the season closes because the quota has been met, the trip will change to a bottom fishing trip, and be at the cheaper rate.
Salmon
The Salmon trips start early to catch the morning bite, and usually last between six and eight hours, depending on where the fish are. We troll for salmon using electric downriggers and fish 2 to 4 rods at a time and take turns catching. Because trolling with downriggers is so effective, and because we go to where the fish are, we usually catch a lot of fish, and keep you busy reeling your fish in.
Bottom Fish
The bottom fishing trips don’t need to start at dawn, and usually last 6 to 8 hours. We jig for lingcod, rockfish, and other assorted creatures, and usually bring home a lot of meat. Many people prefer the delicious white meat of lingcod and rockfish (my personal favorite) over all others, and everybody loves the excitement of discovering what particular beast has attacked your line. We need at least four anglers to make a bottom fishing trip feasible.
Combination Salmon and Bottomfish
The combination trips also start early, and usually last 7 to 10 hours for the hearty fishermen/women who aren’t afraid of longer days of fishing. We start by trolling for salmon, and after catching our limits, we head off to the bottom fishing grounds where we get lingcod and rock fish. We need to have at least four anglers to make a combo trip feasible.
Prices include tax.
A deposit of 50% per angler is required when you make reservations. This is fully refundable if you cancel 30 days before the trip, or you can reschedule it for another trip this year. If you cancel 7 days before the trip your deposit can be used toward another trip this year. Without at least 6 days of notice of cancellation, your deposit cannot be refunded. If the Captain deems the weather to be unsafe, the trip will be canceled, and your deposit will either be refunded or put toward another fishing trip, your choice.

Salmon Inshore Trip: $225.00 per person ($112.50 deposit)
Bottom Fish Offshore Trip: $300.00 per person ($150.00 deposit)
